Netgear AC1200 D6220 - Modem/Router Set Up Guide

Here’s how to set up your Netgear AC1200 D6220 Modem/Router for NBN and Fixed Wireless on the Pentanet network. Let’s go!

Before you start, you’ll need the following details.

  • PPPoE Username and Password - this is your Pentanet authentication username and password. You can find it in your customer welcome email or in the customer portal.
  • Service Type - Pentanet fixed wireless or NBN (including your technology type)

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. On your computer/laptop, connect to the Wi-Fi - you can find the default SSID username and password on a sticker on the back/side of the modem. If you’ve used this modem before and have changed the login details, use those.

  2. Open a web browser and type http://www.routerlogin.net into the address bar. (You can also try http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 if the first option doesn’t work).

  3. Login using the default settings:

    • username: admin
    • password: admin
    • If these credentials don’t work, you will need to factory reset the hardware.
  4. If the Network Genie setup assistant appears, close it or select ‘manually configure router’.

Note: The TP-Link N600 has two Wi-Fi networks which broadcast on different frequencies - 2.4GHz and 5GHz. 5GHz can reach faster speeds, but doesn’t penetrate walls well. 2.4GHz travels farther, but often won’t be as fast. We recommend using the 5GHz network when you’re nearby the unit, or the 2.4GHz if you’re in a different room or further away.
